Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway Gives Back To Community

Kuala Lumpur, 29thJune – “Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway” sees the collaboration between iM4U, Sunway Group, Kolej Vokasional Dato’ Undang Mohd Sarip, Rembau, Kolej Vokasional Sepang, Kolej Vokasional Sultan Abdul Samad, Banting and Kolej Vokasional Setapak in giving back to the residents of Pusat Jagaan Titian OKU Nur, Rumah Jagaan Orang Tua Al Ikhlas, Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Warga Sabah & Semenanjung and Rumah Anak Yatim Limpahan Kasih.
The initiative showcases the designs prepared by students from the four vocational colleges. The students spent a total of six weeks to sew 275 Raya outfits for the four homes, under the supervision of local fashion designer, Sazzy Falak. The local designer and her team assisted the students from creating the design, to choosing the fabric and sewing. It was part of StreetFashionKL by Sazzy Falak’s community wellbeing movement in giving back to the community.
“I would like to thank the students from the four vocational colleges, Sazzy Falak and her team and Sunway Group for making Fabrik Kasih iM4Ufm bersama Kumpulan Sunway a success. It is a collaborative effort to give back to the community,” says Rudy Malik, Chief Executive Officer iM4U.
“Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway is a meaningful programme that gives the students a great opportunity to learn under the mentorship of experienced designers. It is also a way to encourage them to give back to the less fortunate. The new clothes will definitely cheer up their Raya,” says Kartini Ariffin, Director of Radio, iM4Ufm.
“I am glad to be given the chance to take part in Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway. It was an eye-opener to work with a group of talented, young designers and to see the joy that we brought to the homes,” says Sazzy Falak.
The Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway finale was held at Sunway Putra Hotel on 29 June 2016. The highlight of the event was a fashion show where children from the homes, along with iM4Ufm announcers and Sunway Group employees, walk down the runway in clothes sewn by the students. The outfits are presented to the homes at the end of the event.
“We are glad to work with iM4U and iM4Ufm in this year’s Fabrik Kasih iM4U fm bersama Kumpulan Sunway. It is an event that shares joy with the less fortunate and the underserved, while reminding ourselves to show appreciation for one another,” says Tan Sri Razman Hashim, Deputy Chairman Sunway Group.
As part of the event, 150 volunteers from Sunway Group chaperoned the guests throughout the evening. Sunway Group’s management team including Tan Sri Razman Hashim and wife, Puan Sri Latiffah, Sunway Group President Dato’ Chew Chee Kin and wife, Datin Lim Poh Eng along with Sunway Group EXCO member Puan Sri Susan Cheah also gave away food and beverages, gifting the prayer mat, prayer bead, duit raya and raya cookies to the guests from the homes.
Also present at the event was Director of the Technical and Vocational Department from Ministry of Education, Mr Zainuren bin Haji Mohd. Nor.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, iM4U and iM4Ufm have organised Ihya Ramadan; a programme consisting of various activities like At-Taqwa, iQRA’, Ramadan Rangers, iM4U Charity Car Wash and Fabrik Kasih. This initiative was employed to promote unity, especially in this holy month while encouraging the practice of giving back to the community through volunteering activities.
