KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Property, the property arm of Sunway Group, has entered into a lease agreement with GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd via its subsidiary Sunway PKNS Sdn Bhd, to open a Mercato grocery store as an anchor tenant at Sunway d’Hill in Kota Damansara, Selangor, according to a statement on Friday.
The store will take up 11 out of the 29 retail lots with a total space of 20,409 sq ft, or 38% of the total net floor area, in its ongoing Sunway d’Hill mixed development project.
Sunway Property chief executive officer Chong Sau Min said in a statement: “GCH Retail has consistently demonstrated a knack for identifying strategic locations to fuel its expansion. We are delighted to welcome Mercato at Sunway d’Hill. It is a testament to Sunway Property’s proven track record in fostering high-growth communities.”
He is confident that the partnership will be a win for both Mercato and Sunway d’Hill, as it will further elevate Sunway d’Hill’s attractiveness among homebuyers.
Situated on 6.46 acres of leasehold land, Sunway d’Hill has a gross development value of RM640 million. It comprises 972 apartment units spread across two towers. With four types of layout, the units’ built-up size ranges between 829 and 1,238 sq ft. The selling price starts from RM588,000.
The development offers 30 common facilities, including an Olympic-length pool, a kids’ pool, an elevated fitness studio, a yoga/aerobic studio, a karaoke room, a tree-top walk, an herb garden, a terrace amphitheatre, a picnic and camping ground as a theatre/entertainment room.
Sunway d’Hill has accessibility to the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Penchala Link and Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH).
In the same statement, the developer also updated that Sunway Medical Centre Damansara in Kota Damansara is expected to be completed this year.
The medical centre will be operated by Sunway Healthcare Group. It spans 11 floors and features over 250 beds, eight operating theatres and over 80 specialist consultation suites. It is connected to Sunway Nexis via a link bridge. Sunway Property is also building a flyover connecting Jalan PJU 5/1 from Persiaran Surian to ease the traffic as a community service project.
