KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): Sunway Property has launched two new freehold developments — Sunway Cochrane in Kuala Lumpur and Sunway Majestic in Johor Bahru — aimed at meeting surging demand for connected, lifestyle-centric city living from both local and cross-border buyers.

Sunway Cochrane is a 5.4-acre transit-oriented development (TOD) located just 60 metres from the Cochrane MRT station in Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Designed with smart-home systems, flexible unit layouts, and over 40 lifestyle amenities, Sunway Cochrane comprises two towers of serviced apartments ranging from 650 to 1,001 sq ft.

Directly linked to the MRT via a covered bridge, the project sits one stop from TRX, two from Bukit Bintang, and five from KL Sentral.

Sunway Cochrane also integrates with the wider Sunway Velocity ecosystem, offering walking access to healthcare, retail, education and hospitality options.

“As a master community developer, our vision is to create integrated developments that are not just homes, but healthy, resilient, and connected ecosystems for the community,” said Sunway Property chief executive officer Chong Sau Min.

“With Sunway Cochrane, we are setting a new benchmark for TODs in Kuala Lumpur by placing direct MRT access, GreenRE compliance, and future-ready features such as EV charging at the heart of the design. Guided by our proprietary Sunway Design & Development Architecture (SDDA) framework — anchored on Sustainability, Innovation, Health & Wellness, and Lifestyle & New Experiences — every detail of this development has been crafted with care to deliver long-term value for both homeowners and investors.”

The project will open for public preview on Oct 11, 2025.

Sunway Majestic, Johor Bahru

Meanwhile in Johor Bahru, Sunway Majestic introduced the city centre’s first small office/home office (SoHo) apartments this month. The 46-storey development features 1,012 units and is located just 3km from the upcoming Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link to Singapore.

The freehold high-rise is designed to appeal to buyers seeking flexible layouts, urban convenience and long-term value.

Units come in one- to three-bedroom configurations, starting at RM400,000, with personalisation options available under Sunway Property’s Design to Own concept.

The project features multi-tiered security, lifestyle facilities, and shuttle service to the RTS, with direct pedestrian access to Hutan Bandar and proximity to malls and healthcare amenities.

“Homebuyers here are discerning and think long term,” said Sunway Property chief executive officer (Southern Region) Gerard Soosay.

“Johor Bahru’s appeal is real, but expectations are higher: communities must be safe, connected, and adaptable to cross-border lifestyles. That is the standard we are building towards.”

Since its recent launch, the Sunway Majestic sales gallery has been receiving over 100 customer groups daily.

Both developments are guided by SDDA, which emphasises sustainability, innovation, health and wellness, and curated lifestyle experiences.

According to Sunway Property, the projects reflect a shift in buyer preferences towards transit-connected living with integrated amenities.
