1st October 2021 – Grand Opening of Sunway Hotel Big Box @ Sunway City Iskandar Puteri

Following the transition to Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan, Sunway Hotels has finally launched Sunway Hotel Big Box, the first Sunway hotel in southern Malaysia as well as a new haven of nature and adventure. With the grand launch, the hotel has officially opened its doors to guests and is currently providing hospitality with multiple facilities and packages.

6th October 2021 – Johor Sales Galleries Reopened

As the country slowly progressed towards normality, Sunway Property’s Sales Galleries in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri and Sunway Lenang Heights have reopened their doors to welcome customers starting from October 6, 2021. To ensure a safe environment for its staff and customers as they return, the Sales Galleries have adopted strict hygiene protocols, standard operating procedures, and also ensured all of its staff are fully vaccinated.

12th October 2021 – Sunway GEOLake Residences’ Residents welcomed to their new home

Sunway Property this month has started to hand over 417 units of Sunway GEOLake Residences lakeside condominiums and 39 units of townhouses to its new homebuyers close to nine months ahead of its targeted delivery despite the various MCO phases. As part of Sunway Property’s effort to minimise contact and keep its community safe without compromising customer experience, the new homebuyers have an option to be welcomed to the development through a digital experience. Those who opted to proceed with a physical briefing were given a short briefing at the multipurpose hall with light refreshments and a tour of the common area facilities. At the end of the process, the proud owners of the brand-new Sunway GEOLake Residences were led to their own unit as they embarked on their journey as part of Sunway’s community. Each homeowner was also presented with a gift box from Wise Crafters, a start-up producing healthy gift boxes; Wise Crafters was among the top 5 start-ups under the Sunway iLabs accelerator programme.

13th October 2021 – Sunway Brand Discovery Talk

To further align all the business units on the new direction, Sunway recently organised the Sunway Brand Discovery Talk at Sunway Resorts & Hotel. The event saw the attendance of all Senior Marketing Management from various business units of Sunway Group together with Ipsos Malaysia. Ms Sarena Cheah, Sunway Group Executive Director and Mr Evan Cheah, Sunway Group CEO, Digital and Strategic Investments were the invited speakers of the day. Both speakers shared insights on how the company may flourish through togetherness and innovation. During the talk, Mr Evan showed the attendees how Sunway can be sustainable while still advancing its business. On the other hand, Ms Sarena emphasised how Sunway always stay true to its values by saying, “We say what we truly do and we do what we truly say.”

15th October 2021- 31st December 2021 – Always With You 2021

Sunway Property has launched its Always With You 2021 campaign, offering homeowners and investors a chance to purchase a property even during these unprecedented times. 18th October 2021 – Sunway XFarms Officially Reopened

Located in Malaysia’s first-of-its-kind Urban Farm Innovation Hub, Sunway XFarms has officially reopened again after the prolonged Movement Control Orders. A 5-minute walk away from Sunway Medical Centre and Sunway University, visitors are encouraged to drop by and enjoy a healthy farm-to-fork meal from SpargoEats, handcrafted tea and coffee from Future Grounds, as well as to purchase fresh vegetables that are harvested right as you order!

Furthermore, visitors can also take the opportunity to learn about sustainable urban farming systems and visit the Aquaponic and Hydroponic farms as there will be a free farm tour during weekdays at 1pm. Customers can also access Sunway XFarms’ website to pre-order Microgreens which includes varieties such as White Radish, Sunflowers, Peashoots, Red Amaranth, Beetroot and Alfafa.

October 2021 – #MyCommunityHereos

#MyCommunityHeroes ended successfully on 31 October with a total participation of 64 SMEs. Among the SMEs that participated in this event were Wise Crafters, Ice Dreams Cafe, Mr Pie Man, Spargoeats, Schewy Cookies, Future Grounds, and D’Artisan Cheese. During the campaign, one merchant was featured each day on the Sunway Property Mobile App, with up to 30 vouchers worth RM 20 for the public to redeem and support the SMEs.

Sunway Property also concluded the #MyCommunityHeroes #BeTheHeroToday campaign by organising an internal engagement with staff for them to win vouchers from the participating SMEs. The event was held at The Property Gallery @ Menara Sunway, which saw the attendance of Central Region’s management and staff. The objective of this initiative was to show further support to the SMEs during the pandemic.

28th October 2021 –StarProperty Awards 2021 Virtual Ceremony

For the second year in a row, StarProperty hosted the StarProperty Awards 2021 virtually via their StarProperty Facebook Page. During this event, Sunway Property was awarded the All-Stars Award while Sunway City Iskandar Puteri managed to bag multiple awards at the StarProperty Awards 2021 Virtual Ceremony. The Creative Space Award was conferred to Sunway GRID for its innovative design and architecture. On the other hand, Sunway Citrine Lakehomes took home two honours; The Family Friendly Award – Landed Development as well as The Cornerstone Award for its family-first concept, delivering the best in landed developments with a diverse array of amenities and furnishings. As a township, Sunway City Iskandar Puteri was also awarded The Earth Conscious Award for a sustainable, environmentally-friendly approach in planning and design. These awards were a testament to Sunway Property’s tireless work and effort in pursuing excellence.

31st October 2021 – Deepavali Groceries Distribution @ Penang

In conjunction with Deepavali Cheer, Sunway Group brings light into the lives of many by distributing essential groceries to B40 families across the regions via its #SunwayforGood Food Bank initiative, including Penang. The distribution took place at Taman Free School Flat which benefitted a total of 98 families. With this contribution, Sunway aims to assist the underserved single-parent and single-income households, as well as to ensure safe and nutritious food is accessible to families deprived of much needed assistance due to the prolonged Movement Control Orders. The event was attended by Mr Fong Choon Fuoi, General Manager of Sunway Property Penang, Mr Prakash Kumaran, General Manager of Sunway Hotel Georgetown Penang and Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya, Mr Bernard Paul, General Manager of CSR, Internal Branding and Events, Group Brand Marketing and Communications and Ms Sarojini Ruth Rajahser, President of NAWEM.
